DONUT certified courses are held in our purpose built training centre, a short distance from the Norwich Heliport and Norwich Airport.
The DONUT Evacuation System is an emergency evacuation unit based on the abseiling principle using proven off the shelf products and assembled to specifically suit the requirements of tertiary escape from Offshore Installations.
Our DONUT course covers the theoretical and practical use of the DONUT personal evacuation system to comply with offshore operators requirements in the North Sea.
Intended for: Offshore Platform Workers
Course Aim:
This course is designed to give adequate knowledge to participants in the use of the DONUT Personal Evacuation System.
- Carrying out pre-inspection checks
- Selection of suitable anchor points
- Correctly put on equipment
- Controlled descent, Stop during descent & Lock Off
- Release themselves from rope
- Aware of associated hazards & Legislation
Course Assessment:
Classroom/Practical and use of at height training device. During the practical application the Trainer will assess safety, competence and aptitude.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion personnel are certified to use the designated model of Offshore DONUT operation units in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and recommendations, and fulfil one of the pre-qualifications required for visiting/working on a platform where the offshore DONUT system is present.
Training Methods:
Classroom/Practical use of at height training device. During the practical application the Trainer will assess safety, competence and aptitude.
All our training is carried out by certified DONUT Instructors: Our training is undertaken in a relaxed and friendly manner with safety as our main priority.
Course Duration: 2-4 Hours
Course Ratio: 1:6
Certification Duration: Valid for a maximum of 3 years.
What to Bring: Loose comfortable clothing and flat shoes (warm clothing during winter months).
Entry Requirements: Able to undertake practical elements at height.

Pre-Training Requirements: A valid offshore medical certificate.
Delegate Requirements:
Courses are of a strenuous nature; therefore a good level of fitness is advised. Delegates must be medically fit. Candidates attending this course must have a good understanding of verbal and written English language.
We can accommodate any delegate with special needs providing we are advised at time of booking.
Minimum age 18.
